Hi, I'm Tania! 

Upcycld was born in 2020 when I moved from Bondi back to Melbourne. I was cleaning out my daughter's room and realised all of her furniture was falling apart. Modern furniture doesn't have the durability like it used to, and the thought of building ugly boring flat packs was unappealing! That sparked an idea -  if I could find timeless, well crafted pieces that have endured for decades, they could withstand my daughter!

What began as a personal project soon became a passion, I began curating and transforming these beautiful statement pieces, and to my delight, people loved them! Their enthusiasm encouraged me to make more and before long I moved in to my first small commercial space.

Today I work from my dedicated workshop in Moorabbin, where I can sand, paint and restore   without disrupting the neighbours!

Before Upcycld, I built a career in Management Consulting, specialising in Startups and Innovation. While this was worlds away from sanding and painting, it gave me the entrepreneurial foundation to bring my vision to life.

The shift has been rewarding in ways I never imagined. I love bringing new life to these ugly designer ducklings transforming them into unique and sophisticated designer pieces, that honour their craftsmanship, and keep them out of landfill.
